Hungarian Foreign Minister (FM) Peter Szijjártó stated that both Hungary and Bahrain are part of the global majority supporting peace and specifically advocate for a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian conflict.
Hungarian government spokesperson Zoltán Kovács, quoting Minister Szijjártó, said: "Szijjártó praised Bahrain's efforts to promote regional stability and confirmed Hungary's commitment to working with the Gulf state on global peace initiatives, especially concerning the conflict in Ukraine."
He added: "The resolution of the conflict is not on the battlefield; only a ceasefire and peace talks can lead to a solution."
The spokesperson noted that Szijjártó emphasized that Hungary and Bahrain are "part of the global majority supporting peace, despite attempts by mainstream European media to downplay its significance."
He confirmed that "stability and cessation of hostilities are crucial in a world facing conflicts in both Europe and the Middle East."
