Certainly, the Coronavirus has made its mark on all our actions of our daily life nowadays.
So we should be very cautious when we deal with this unknown, stubborn virus.
Within hours, a huge numbers of people will go to the ATMs to get their monthly salaries.
The government was keen to pay salaries on time and perhaps in some departments, civil servants get salaries before its due date.
But how do we deal in a safe and sound manner with the Automated Teller Machine (ATMs,), what is the best thing you must do to insure your safety and prevention for you and others?
Those questions and others were answered by Dr. Hany ElNazer, the former Dean of the National Research Center.
He said first of all people must take a face mask, a medical glove and a bottle of alcohol. You must put on the mask and the gloves ahead you approach the queue in front of an ATM.
You must keep a distance, at least a meter, with the others standing in the line.
After withdrawal of the cash from the machine, you must cleanse the buttons of it with alcohol to serve those may haven’t a sterilizer.
Then you must clean well the money that you have with alcohol. Thirdly, after you return home, you must get rid of the face mask and the gloves in a safe way and do not use them again.
Safe disposal of the mask and gloves
* How do we get rid of masks and gloves after using them in a safe way?
**Doctor Elnazer said, first, we must clean well them outside and inside with alcohol after using them.
Second, we use scissors to cut them into tiny bits so that we insure they do not be used again by any human being.
Third, those remnants must be placed in a plastic bag and thrown into the garbage bin.
Optimum cleansing
* What are the best means and materials of disinfection?
Dr. Elnazer said we must use soap and water as long as we are at home, but if we go out to any crowded we must put on a face mask. It is unnecessary to wear the face mask while walking because the virus is heavy and does not live in the air so it falls to the ground.
We must always cleanour hands with alcohol or cologne as long as we stay at home with your children when no one comes in. There is no reason to be panic at all.
He warns against using chlorine to cleanse hands or tableware, adding that chlorine should be used to cleanse surfaces, floors and bathrooms only as well as wiping the floors and surfaces and let them dry without drying.
Food sterilization
A demanding question is about the best way to sterilize food, especially vegetables ?
Dr. Elnazer said it is preferable to avoid buying food from street vendors, but if we have to do we must first get rid of the bags of food containers, bread should be heated over fire or in the microwave oven, vegetables and fruits should be washed well with fresh water and then immersed in water and vinegar .
Finally
Prevention is better than treatment and staying home is the best way to prevent contracting pathogens.
