A high-level delegation consisting of a number of Egyptian and international economists and experts visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat, on Wednesday.
The delegation was headed by Mohamed Mansour, first treasurer of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom and former Minister of Transport, Rawya Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ramsco, and British businessman Sir Ben Elliott, former Chairman of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom.
The group visited the museum as part of their participation in the "Voice of Egypt Summit", the first international public relations forum in Egypt. The event was launched this year under the title "Egypt Forever Forward" and was sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tourism, and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion. The summit took place in the Soma Bay area in Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate.
Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Museum Authority, welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the museum's importance in promoting ancient Egyptian civilization, enhancing Egypt's image as a global tourist destination, and supporting the national economy through tourism development.
Meanwhile, Maysara Abdullah, Executive Vice President of the Museum Authority for Archaeological Affairs, then took the delegation on an inspection tour of the museum's various halls, showcasing the museum's collection that tells the story of Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times until the modern era.
The delegation was impressed with the museum's display, particularly the presentation of the royal mummies and the artifacts that showcased various aspects of Egyptian civilization throughout history.
They also took a group photo to commemorate their experience.
