The Egyptian Football Federation announced that West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazy suffered a broken nose during the national team's African Cup of Nations Opening match against Zimbabwe.
Hegazy suffered the severe injury after a collision with a Zimbabwe defender in the 32nd minute of the first half.
The Federation announced early on today that the medical examinations revealed that Egypt's top defender has a broken nose.
The defender refused to leave the field even after blood went dripping down his nose, instead he chose to take the required medical treatment and immediately resumed the match.
