Heavy Rain, Lightinig Hit Alexandria on Sunday

Alexandria was hit by Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunder hit on Sunday, blocking movement of pedestrians and vehicles.

On his part, Alexandria governor declared a state of emergency across the governorate and ordered removing excess water that has accumulated in streets and squares to facilitate the passage of the citizens and ease traffic congestion.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts pleasant weather to prevail in most parts of the country, during daylight hours on Monday. 

Moderate weather is also expected to hit the Red Sea Mountain trail and South Upper Egypt.

The country will also witness mist on agricultural and highway roads.

There are chances of rainfall prevailing in Cairo, Suez Gulf, North Coast, Lower Egypt, North Sinai, Canal Cities, and North Upper Egypt.

Winds will be active in the Red Sea Mountain trail, Northwest Coast, and South Sinai.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience low to moderate waves, ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 meters in height varying between southwest to northwest surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be low to moderate, ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Meanwhile, moderately cold weather is set to the country, at nighttime, turning to cold toward the end.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 19°C in Cairo, 18°C in Alexandria, 19°C in Marsa Matruh, 21°C in Sohag, 21°C in Qena, and 25°C in Aswan.
