Health Ministry: COVID-19 Vaccine Is Safe for Pregnant, Lactating Women

The Ministry of Health and Population said that the Coronavirus vaccine is safe for pregnant and lactating women, stressing that vaccines are available in all centers for free.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry urged citizens to get the COVID-19 vaccine, which contributes to protecting family members from severe infection.

Moreover, it stressed that the Egyptian state spares no effort in providing free COVID-19 vaccines to all citizens, as part of the ministry’s keenness on the public health and the state’s gains in addressing the pandemic.

On Saturday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that the average number of daily infections with the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) reached 4 cases, during the past week. The lower rate of infections is linked to efforts of the ministry to continue surveillance, investigation, and examination procedures.

The Ministry implements a plan to fight the deadly virus according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Dr.Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the average daily number of people recovering from the Coronavirus reached 16, after receiving the necessary medical care.

It is worth mentioing that the number of people who received vaccines against the Coronavirus in Egypt has reached 35 million and 178 thousand people.
