Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar urged Egyptians to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and stick to precautionary measures.
In a statement, the spokesman added that at least 6 million citizens have received the booster shot so far, shedding light on its great importance in protecting against infection.
Moreover, Abdel Ghaffar added that vaccines are safe and effective.
It is worth mentioning that, Health Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said that there has been an increase in the number of people infected with the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) in recent days, compared to previous weeks in Egypt.
In televised remarks, he warned that the Coronavirus is still present globally and has not ended yet.
The presidential adviser added that “the daily increase in infections in Egypt is estimated at 7% – 8%.”
Moreover, Tag El-Din warned against gatherings during the coming period, especially on the beaches.
