The Ministry of Health and Population announced that 1.825 million women have been examined, as part of the President's initiative to "care for the health of the mother and fetus" under the slogan "100 million health" since its launch in March 2020 until today.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that the initiative aims at the early detection of diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus, and the provision of free treatment and health care.
He added that the presidential initiative also aims at early detection of HIV infection, HIV, and syphilis for pregnant women.
For his part, Dr. Fawzi Fathi, Executive Director of the initiative, said that the initiative follows up on the condition of the mother and newborn for 42 days, after the end of pregnancy, to discover risk factors for the mother or the newborn, and to take appropriate measures, in addition to disbursing the necessary micronutrients during the postpartum period.
