The Ministry of Health and Population (MHP) stressed the importance of expanding the medical facilities of the Health Insurance Authority, and increasing the number of beneficiaries of the Authority's services.
The Ministry said that health insurance provides health and treatment services to about 69.8 million Egyptian citizens currently.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the MHP, indicated that the ministry was directed to expand the services provided by the health insurance system, in addition to cooperation with all sectors of the Ministry of Health, to expand the provision of medical services with international standards.
It is noteworthy that it was agreed to implement an advanced health strategy aimed at raising the efficiency of health services provided to insurance beneficiaries, increasing the number of medical services, developing health facilities, developing medical devices, and continuing to provide insurance services in parallel with the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system.
