The Ministry of Health and Population said that climate change affects the rise in temperatures, and this causes an increase in the chances of mosquitoes spreading, as it is expected that 4.7 million people will be infected with diseases that mosquitoes transmit, such as malaria and dengue fever, by 2070.
The Ministry of Health and Population indicated that 9 out of 10 people around the world breathe unhealthy air, as polluted air resulting from burning fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas causes 13 deaths every minute, due to lung cancer and heart disease, and stroke.
It added that plastic wastes scattered in the depths of the ocean and at the top of the highest mountain affect food chains, noting that climate change doubles the danger of drought, which will have a significant impact on global agriculture and food production, and thus lead to malnutrition.
