Renowned Egyptologist Zahi Hawass said that the organization of Egypt for the African Nations Championship was a great success and step forward toward more accomplishments and progress.
"The tournament is one of the most important events that will help attract visitors from all over the world, bringing tourism to its previous levels, prior to the 2011 revolution," Hawass added.
"The event underscores the importance and greatness of Egypt, which has returned to its African continent, showing the whole world the high levels of security and safety in the country," he noted.
"We have a great chance to win this tournament and be the champions of Africa," Hawass added, noting that the Egyptian squad should represent the dreams of all Egyptians and win the championship.
"Following the African Cup of Nations, I hope football fans will return to the stadiums during the cup and league competitions like before," he continued.
Hawass pointed out that the only way to win the tournament is through hard work and teamwork, hoping that Egypt will hold the title for the 8th time.
