The Fashion Department of the Faculty of Applied Arts, Badr University in Cairo (BUC) welcomed the international Egyptian fashion designer Hany El Behairy during a seminar on Saturday, November 28th.
The seminar was organized by Dr. Doha El Demerdash, the fashion designing professor so that El Behairy can share his experience on how to become an innovative and unique fashion designer with the department’s students.
El Behairy talked about his career story from his high school days and designing for the elite Egyptian families to showcasing his designs abroad in 2005, first in Lebanon, then Italy and Paris.
The successful designer offered a number of surprises during the seminar including opening the Hany El Behairy fashion house, where the talented students can intern and work.
He also announced the launching of his new men’s wear line and his new ready to wear women’s wear line.

Students were keen on attending the BUC seminar
Dr. Ahmed Wahid the Faculty’s dean, Dr. Zainab Abd El Hafiz the Head of the Fashion Department, and Dr. Ayman El Shiwey the Dean of the Faculty of Filmmaking and Performing Arts all welcomed the international designer.
A big number of students were keen on attending the seminar while following the COVID-19 precautionary measures from social distancing and wearing facemasks.
Also, a lot of the students wanted to take pictures and selfies with the designer who happily agreed to their requests.
