The African champions qualified for the last eight after beating Serbia 30-29 on Wednesday, while Norway advanced to this stage after pulling off a 29-28 over Brazil.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt pulled off five victories in their group stage clashes against Australia, Nigeria, Sweden, South Korea, and France.

Egypt became the first non-European team to achieve the full mark during the group stage in this tournament since 2009 when Brazil managed to do so.

Egypt's player Shehab Abdullah was selected as the best player in the game.
