Major General Ahmed al-Mismari, spokesman of Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has been placed under quarantine in Libya for two weeks, as a precautionary measure after returning from abroad.
Al-Mismari said that he would enter quarantine for two weeks “after returning from a business trip abroad”, with the accompanying team, in implementation of the issued precautionary decisions to confront Coronavirus, officially known as (COVID-19).
In a post on "Facebook", LNA spokesman confirmed that this comes despite the fact that he and his accompanying team members had “no symptoms of infection”.
He stressed that public safety is a priority and everyone should abide by the issued decisions and the implementation of instructions, thus, “we do not get involved in the widespread of the pandemic.”
It is worth mentioning that, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.
Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough. They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
