On Thursday, the Philadelphia Police Chief said that 7 people, including a two-year-old girl and 4 teenagers, were wounded in a shooting on the corner of a street in the city.
The mother of the two-year-old girl was among those seriously injured, Philadelphia Police Chief Danielle Outlow told a news conference, adding that the worst of the injuries was a teenager who was in critical condition.
The shooting started shortly before 6 p.m. local time a few hundred meters from an elementary school, but Outlow said the incident did not appear to have started there.
The 2-year-old girl was shot once in the left thigh, police said. She was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where she was listed in stable condition
