According to a press report published by the British Guardian newspaper, Moscow announced that there will be no ceasefire in Ukraine during the Christmas period.
The report added that Russia also rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal to withdraw Russian forces from Ukraine, stressing the need for Kyiv to recognize the military gains achieved by Russian forces on the battlefield.
The Guardian indicated that the Russian side seeks to continue the armed conflict with the Ukrainian forces during the very cold winter, highlighting the statements of the Ukrainian President, in which he confirmed that there is no sign of a calm situation on the front lines.
The report deals with the statements of Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in his response to a journalist's question last Wednesday whether Moscow had received any proposals for a cease-fire during the Christmas holidays, as he confirmed that such a proposal is not on the table in any way.
