Greece plans to push the European Union to provide medical treatment for Lebanese citizens injured in the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict, according to a statement from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis discussed the issue with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdullah Bou Habib, during a meeting in New York.
The ministry's statement highlighted Greece's concern about the escalating crisis in the Middle East and the increasing risk of its expansion.
Gerapetritis emphasized the importance of breaking the "vicious cycle of violence and confrontation" in the region.
Greece, according to the statement, will work to rally European support for providing medical assistance on a centralized and European level to help Lebanese citizens in need of treatment.
