On Wednesday, Pope Tawadros II, the Coptic Orthodox Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, received a phone call from the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb. The Imam congratulated the Pope on the occasion of the glorious Resurrection Day and Easter.
Sheikh Al-Tayeb expressed his sincere good wishes to Pope Tawadros II and all members of the Church. He added that holidays and religious celebrations are opportunity for sharing feelings of love, brotherhood, and solidarity between all Egyptians.
Pope Tawadros II is scheduled to head the Easter Mass on the evening of May 4 at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbasiya.
