The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, issued statement on situation in Sudan.
He said : I pray to Allah to lift the afflicted conflict off from our fellow brothers in the Sudan, and to guide the wise people there to cruise them to peace and to save the lives, divinely declared inviolable. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) warned against bloodshed, saying, “The extinction of the whole world is less significant before Allah than killing a single Muslim.”
He also said, “When two Muslims confront each other with their swords, both the slayer and the slain are doomed to Hell-Fire.” It was said, "Messenger of Allah, we understand the slayer's (punishment), but what about the slain?" He (pbuh) said, "He was keen on killing his opponent".
