Gov'ts Launch Initiative to Protect Heritage Sites, Museums from Climate Change Damage

Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, participated in the launch of the initiative of the Fund for the Protection of Heritage Sites and Museums from Climate Change Damage, in the presence of Dr. Salem bin Malik, President of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), and Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

In his speech, the Minister of Higher Education made it clear that the Egyptian government is committed to managing the climate change file with the utmost interest and global commitment, to support an issue that concerns the whole world.

Ashour pointed out that all Egyptian universities are working to study the effects of climate change on various sectors.

The minister added that Egyptian universities pay great attention to the extent of the impact of climate change on the effects.

He explained that the studies confirm that the risk of climate change on the Egyptian effects will be great if we do not speed up taking protection and prevention measures.
