The Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports honored the well-known jewelry designer, Shajn Al-Jumaili, during the 25th Gulf Championship, after assigning her to design the official championship medals.

Speaking to Sada El-bald English (SEE), Al-Jumaili said: "I was officially chosen by the state just a few days before the tournament, and it was really a challenging responsibility and interesting experience as it pertains to the success of this special tournament that the Iraqi people have been waiting for 43 years."

She continued: “Though I studied architecture, I did not find it difficult to move from architectural design to jewelry design, as the design techniques were somewhat similar."

"The only difference is the sizes and spaces," Al-Jumaili noted.

The talented jewelry designer explained that the most difficult challenge and barrier she faced was joining a sector that requires great financial capacity.

Al-Jumaili participated in many international exhibitions that were held in Istanbul, through a number of companies that cooperated with her in the implementation of most of her special collections.

Al-Jumaili told SEE that she prefers to use silver in her work, first because it combines all classes of society, as it is a friend of the poor and the rich, and the second reason is that it is a challenge, through which it proves to the user that the real value of the piece is not the value of the metal, but rather the value of the idea.

"A piece of simple metal can make more profits than the most expensive metal if it is designed in a professional manner," Al-Jumaili pointed out.
