Germany has announced on Tuesday that the government decided to postpone the virtual vaccination summit over AstraZeneca crisis.

The new date of the summit will be announced after the final reports of the European Medicines Agency regarding the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, dozens of European countries decided to suspend using AstraZeneca jabs during Vaccination campaigns which slowed down the vaccination rollout.

Supposed to be held on Wednesday, the meeting would discuss the slow vaccination rollouts in various parts of Europe, and the possible means for speeding the process up.

However, the meeting was postponed until after the meeting of the European Medicines Agency which will hold up its reviewing meeting for AstraZeneca on Thursday.

Oxford-AstraZeneca crisis started by the reports of the Norwegian medical authorities about the presence of blood clots at the bodies of some adults who received the vaccine jabs.

Therefore, many European and Asian countries halted using it amid blood clotting fears.

On the other hand, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson defended the vaccine asserting that it is safe and effective.
