German Ambassador in Cairo Cyrill Nunn and French Ambassador in Cairo Stéphane Romatet affirmed on Wednesday their support to the education and higher education fields in Egypt, hailing its regional position and leading role.
The two ambassadors' remarks came during their participation in a symposium, hosted by the German University in Cairo (GUC).
Romatet lauded the experience of the GUC in Egypt as it is considered as the largest cross-border educational project outside Germany, appreciating its efforts for being a bridge of communication between Africa and Europe.
He said that GUC is a role model for the partnership for development through qualifying the cadres.
Many GUC students attended the symposium, which is an activity for GUC MUN model, who were keen to ask many questions about aspects of the partnership and its development over the past years between the two countries and how they achieved goals of sustainable development and increased economic cooperation in under the umbrella of the European Union.
The students also suggested setting up an exchange program for German, Egyptian, and French students and enhancing language programs to contribute to the revitalization of tourism and creating a positive environment that stimulates openness to other cultures.
