Muammar Al Gaddafi, the former leader may have predicted the current coronavirus outbreak in one of his past speeches as the world currently struggles to contain the vicious epidemic.

In a speech delivered during his prime years of leadership, Gaddafi asserted that there are people who specialize in creating health problems just to make money, irrespective of the danger it poses to human existence.

“Today there is swine flu. Perhaps tomorrow there will be fish flu, because sometimes we produce viruses by controlling them. It is a commercial business. Capitalist companies produce viruses so that they can generate and sell vaccinations. That is very shameful and poor ethics. Vaccinations and medicine should not be sold,” he said.

He went on to say that “Medicines should be free of charge and vaccinations given free to children, but capitalist companies produce the viruses and vaccinations and want to make a profit. Why are they not free of charge? We should give them free of charge, and not sell them.”

COVID-19 is ravaging all across the world as over the world as 1,582,135 have been infected so far, while 94,556 of them have lost their lives.

Known to be very protective of the African culture, a promoter of African unity and a strong critic of foreign ideologies and the manner and strategies with which the powers manipulate the world, Gaddafi has never held back on his words when speaking against social ills.

Several conspiracy theories are emerging concerning the cause of the virus, while most believe it was just a bi-product of nature, several other leaders are currently pointing fingers at each other.

The Chinese are blaming America for the spread of the virus. The spokesman for China’s foreign ministry, Zhao Lijian, tweeted that “it might be the US army” that brought the coronavirus to China whilst Donald Trump, President of the United States also constantly refer to COVID-19 as a “Chinese Virus”.
