The French government has announced its "serious intention" to build a site for the conversion and enrichment of recycled uranium "in France."

So far, Russia is the only country in the world with a plant for the conversion of recycled uranium intended for integration into nuclear power plants.

According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, the Ministry of Industry and Energy stated that the option of implementing an industrial project for the conversion of recycled uranium in France is under serious consideration, under the auspices of the Nuclear Policy Council.

On the other hand, the ministry confirmed that the Russian nuclear industry is a sector that continues to evade the international sanctions imposed after the war in Ukraine.

The French ministry stated that the conditions and measures associated with this project are still under consideration.
