France resumed the defense of their Youth World Championship crown with a 28-24 victory over Egypt in Group B on Wednesday.
The defending champions came out on top in the first half with a narrow 14-12 score, before further cementing their lead in the second half as they pulled off a 28-24 win.
The Pharaohs will now take on Chinese Taipei on Friday, August 9 at 14:30 CLT in their third group stage game.

Egypt made an ideal start to the tournament by defeating Sweden 32-29, while holders France kicked off their adventure with a 44-16 victory over Canada.
The Pharaohs booked their place in the international tournament after claiming the African Championship title, held in Morocco, where they defeated Tunisia in the final game.
The African champions were pooled in Group B alongside France, Hungary, Sweden, Canada, and Chinese Taipei.
They are looking to follow the footsteps of Egypt’s U 20, who achieved the bronze medal at the Men’s Junior U21 World Championship in Spain. They delivered an impressive performance during the tournament, as they became the first non-European team to achieve the full mark during the group stage in this tournament since 2009 when Brazil managed to do so.
24 teams, who participated in this tournament, pided into four groups of 6 teams.

Group B: Sweden – France – Hungary – Egypt – China – Canada.
Group C: Denmark, Bahrain, Macedonia, Japan, Argentina, and Nigeria.
Group D: Iceland, Germany, Serbia, Tunisia, Brazil, and Portugal
