French President Emmanuel Macron and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping expressed their opposition for any Israeli occupation attack on Palestinian Rafah, which would lead to a major humanitarian catastrophe, as well as their opposition to any forced displacement of Palestinian civilians.
This came in the joint declaration between France and China on the situation in the Middle East, which was issued on Monday following their official talks, which were held within the framework of the Chinese president’s two-day state visit to France.
Moreover, French and Chinese Presidents stressed the urgent need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire to allow the widespread delivery of humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians in the Gaza Strip, calling for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.
The two leaders also called for the immediate and effective implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions, especially Security Council Resolutions 2712, 2720 and 2728, explaining that this is the only credible way to ensure peace and security for all.
