Four Egyptian films are waiting for the official competition results. This will be announced at the end of the 41th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).
This is not only the end of the competition of CIFF, but the winning films will qualify for the competition of International Oscar Awards, such as; the Venice Festival and Cannes Festival, for first time this year
The following four films are competing for the Cinema of Tomorrow Awards.
The first is "Amin" directed by Ahmed Abul Fadl; it narrates a story of a man who fails to achieve his dreams until he has in his hands film materials of the late great director Shadi Abdel Salam, and seizes them and escapes on a long journey in the Upper Egypt.
Followed by "Sea of Dunes" film directed by Nesma Rushdie, which conveys the beautiful nature of the desert oasis of Siwa, narrating the scenes of history and civilization of different dimensions and times.
Next is "Trap" a film directed by Nada Riad; it talks about excess in romantic relationship.
The 4th film, "Searching for
Ghazala", tells the story of a filmmaker attending a film and evaluating the performance of African refugee groups in Egypt, where a young Sudanese man dreams of acting, immigration and professional football.
Noteworthy, the jury members of Al Ghad International Short Film Competition are Portuguese producer and distributor Nuno Rodriguez; he co-founded the Vila do Conde short film festival in Portugal, and served as his artistic director.
He also founded the Portuguese Short Film Agency, which is also responsible for advertising and distributing Portuguese short films to international markets.
In addition, Egyptian actress Hanan Motaoua - starred in her film and drama roles- participated in a number of feature films, most recently "Day and Night"; she won a special recognition award from the Casablanca Film Festival
