Former Culture Min. Dr. Shaker Abdel Hamid Passes away

Former Minister of Culture Dr. Shaker Abdel Hamid passed away on Thursday at the age of 67 of COVID-19.

Abdel Hamid was diagnosed with the virus a few days ago, and he passed through critical medical conditions due to the complications of the Coronavirus.

The late author held the portfolio of Culture Ministry in 2011.

He left behind several bright writings and books about culture in Egypt and the arts.

Also, he was one of Farouk Hosny Foundation's prize jury members.

The writer won several national and regional prizes and he was honored in a number of prestigious ceremonies.
