Amr Mahmoud Abbas the Assistant of the Minister of Foreign Affairs announced some new facilitations for renewing the passports of the Egyptians abroad. He said that originally the papers needed for renewing the passports are the national ID card for all the Egyptians who are of the age of 16 or older.
Abbas added that the announced facilitations of renewing the passports of people with an expired national ID cards were only released as an exception and only include the Egyptians abroad seeing as some countries require the validity of the passport to be at least two years to grant the residency in their countries.
He also confirmed that the 2017 rules are actively applied everywhere.
In that case, the passport is to be renewed after confirming the Egyptian nationality. However, it will be renewed for only 3 years till the citizen is able to renew hi national ID card.
