The Organizing Committee of the Libyan Football Federation announced, on Tuesday, the suspension of all football competitions in the Western Region until further notice.
According to the Libyan "Al-Wasat" news portal, "This comes in light of the security tensions witnessed in Tripoli following the announcement of the killing of Abdul Ghani Al-Kikli, head of the Stability Support Apparatus affiliated with the Presidential Council, inside the headquarters of Brigade 444 Combat, affiliated with the Tripoli Military Zone, on Monday evening."
Among the clubs in the western region are Al-Ittihad, which features Egyptian star Mahmoud Kahraba, and Al-Ahly Tripoli, coached by veteran Egyptian coach Hossam El-Badry.
