Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, and Ayman Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan, discussed during a phone call the ongoing preparations for the emergency international conference on the urgent humanitarian response to the crisis in Gaza, which is being jointly organized by Jordan, Egypt and the United Nations, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed.
The official spokesman for the Foreign Ministry added that the two ministers stressed the importance of this conference, which aims to find practical steps that ensure the immediate, appropriate and sustainable delivery of humanitarian and emergency medical aid, accelerate and organize the process of providing aid, identify ways to strengthen the international community’s response to the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, and meet operational and logistical needs and the various types of necessary support.
The two ministers also expressed their aspiration for the effective participation of the invited countries and organizations to ensure the achievement of the objectives of this conference, and the provision of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to the Palestinian brothers who are suffering from an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since the seventh of last October.
