Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoury received on Wednesday United Nations (UN) Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Libya, Ján Kubiš, at the ministry headquarters.
During the meeting, Shoukry affirmed that Egypt will continue its efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement, in a manner that preserves Libya's unity, ensures the exit of all mercenaries and foreign fighters from it, and preserves the capabilities of its brotherly people and their national institutions.
Moreover, FM stressed the importance of various parties' commitment to implementing the National Dialogue Forum's outcomes, and the electoral entitlements according to the agreed timeframes.
In addition, Shoukry underlined the need to stop any unconstructive foreign interventions that entrench the Libyan pision, stressing Egypt's support for the work of the 5 + 5 committee emanating from the Berlin track, as it is considered the party concerned with the file of unifying security and military institutions.
Shoukry also praised the UN envoy Kubis's efforts to reach a political solution that would serve the Libyan people and achieve his legitimate aspirations for a stable and prosperous Libya.
On his part, the UN envoy briefed Shoukry on the results of his recent contacts with the parties concerned with the Libyan crisis, expressing his appreciation for Egypt's efforts aimed at supporting the settlement in Libya.
