Chinese authorities revealed that at least 15 people died as heavy downpours and flash floods struck China’s Shanxi province this week.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by Chinese TV, the head of the Department for Emergency Situations Wang Qi Rui said: “At least fifteen people were killed and three others are missing as heavy rain lashed townships from Oct. 7.”
In Shanxi, autumn rains caused power cuts and landslides, demolishing approximately 19.5000 homes and forcing the evacuation of nearly 12000 people, the province’s Emergency Management Bureau reported on early Tuesday.
Above ground, streets have been turned into rivers, with vehicles and debris swept along in fast-moving currents, according to the Chinese latest reports.
