First Lady Entissar El Sisi affirmed Thursday women's right to live in a secure environment on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
"On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we proceed together to reaffirm women’s right to live in a secure environment free of abuses, where non-derogable rights are protected," the First Lady wrote on her official Facebook account.
She added that "Egypt is moving steadily toward empowering women, promoting their rights, and protecting them from all kinds of verbal and physical abuse."
"Our New Republic is based on gender equality and women’s role as an essential partner in building this nation," Mrs. Sisi noted.
