Eight people were killed in a fire that occurred overnight in the second-largest city in the Czech Republic, police said Thursday.
The fire broke out about two hours after midnight in the city of Brno, 200 kilometers (125 miles) southeast of Prague.
Czech public television said those who died were most likely homeless people in an orphanage.
Rescuers mentioned that they did not find anyone injured. Police and firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
