Fierce Battles in Bakhmut on First Anniversary of Start of Russian War on Ukraine

British military intelligence announced that the Bakhmut sector in the Ukrainian province of Donetsk witnessed fierce battles over the past 48 hours, at a time when Russian reports indicated that the Russian army carried out combat operations in the center of Bakhmut.

"Sky News" quoted the British Ministry of Defense as saying that the city of Bakhmut and its environs witnessed fierce fighting during the past two days, adding that the Russian forces "apparently" are preparing to launch another attack in the Oglidar region.

According to the British Intelligence Bulletin, Ogledar was subjected to heavy shelling.

Yesterday, the Russian army announced that it had carried out combat operations in the center of the city of Artyomovsk (the Russian name for the city of Bakhmut).
