Fayza Mahmoud, player of the Egyptian Paralympic table tennis team, won the gold medal in the Saudi International Championship.
She defeated Nigeria's national team player 3-1 in the final of the tournament. Mahmoud also beat the Turkish national team and Saudi Arabia in the semifinals.
Egypt participated in the tournament with a delegation that included 21 players: Islam Reda, Ahmed Al-Mahs, Khaled Abdel Salam, Sameh Eid, Ehab Mohamed Hassan, Marwan Nabil, Abdel Rahman Abdel Wahab, Sayed Mohamed Ahmed, Ibrahim Hamdto, Mamdouh El-Sayed, Hassan Hefny, Hossam Hosny, Ayman Kamal, Ola Mahmoud, Faiza Mahmoud, Hanaa Ahmed, Samah Abdel Aziz, Lamia Shehata, Hagar Ibrahim, Mona Mohamed, Fawzia Ghamri, and Essam Mahmoud.
