Many people worldwide complained that they cannot use Facebook at the moment, as they are unable to see the newsfeed or comments.

DownDetector reported that nearly 2,000 people logged outages accessing Facebook in the past 24 hours. Hundreds of Facebook users took to Twitter to complain about issues using the social media site and app.

Miko said: "Facebook is down atm then", while Nikki wrote: "I thought I was in Facebook jail again [laughing emoji], I guess it's down right now."

Jah noted: "It appears Facebook is down or experiencing some sort of glitch at the moment."

Facebook has recently unveiled plans to ban sharing religious and political views.

Users who use the "Address," "Political Views," "Religious Views," and "Interested In" fields in their Facebook profiles began seeing a message at the top of their profiles warning them that those fields will be removed.

However, if you want to save the information for any reason, Facebook will provide a link to click on and download your profile information.

"As part of our efforts to make Facebook easier to navigate and use, we’re removing a handful of profile fields: Interested In, Religious Views, Political Views, and Address," a Meta representative said.
