The former Egyptian Minister of Irrigation, Muhammad Nasreddin Allam, talked, on Friday evening, about the US President Donald Trump’s statement regarding the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, according to Sputnik.
“Trump clarifies the Egyptian leadership’s position on the Renaissance Dam, its inadmissibility of the Ethiopian demands and its readiness for military intervention to preserve our water security,” Allam wrote on his Facebook page.
The American president reflected a full understanding of Egypt's position on the issue saying that "They will blow up the dam.”
After announcing the beginning of the first filling of the Renaissance Dam on July 21, the Ethiopian government claimed that the heavy rainfall in the Ethiopian plateau, helped in the process of filling the dam unintentionally, yet the completion of the first filling of the Renaissance Dam without reaching an agreement with Egypt and Sudan angered the two countries.
