Evangelical Head: Egypt Confronts Challenges with Development

Rev. Dr. Andri Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt, affirmed that Egypt is facing its challenges with more efforts exerted at development.

This was included in his talks with members of congress during a 15-day visit to the United States, which he has just concluded. Among those he met are: Ron Wright, Foreign Affairs Committee member, French Hill Member of the on National Security and International Development and Monetary Policy, David Price, Congressman and Democratic House Partnership head.

He met as well with members of Committee on Religious Minorities in the Middle East Robert Aderholt, Vicky Hartzler as well with Nadine Maenza, chairman of the Committee on Religious Freedoms, Kimberly Stanton, Human Rights Committee official.

Speaking with congress members, Dr. Zaki said that Egypt is facing a number of challenges and that the government is exerting all efforts to deal with them but also to support causes of co-existence and economic development as instructed by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi who pays much care to issues of citizenship, freedom of belief and mutual tolerance.

Dr. Zaki had met too with heads and officials at several Arab -Evangelical churches in Virginia, Boston and the Potomac church. He spoke at several places about issues such as the role of the church in fostering unity, management of expectations, and postmodernism.
