EU: Some of Israel's Measures Towards Palestine Contradict International law

European Union (EU) Foreign Policy Coordinator Josep Borrell announced that some of Israel's measures contradict international law.

Borrell said, following an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union: “A number of Israeli measures, such as cutting off water and electricity (to the Gaza Strip) and stopping food supplies, all of this contradicts international law.”

Earlier, Israeli Infrastructure Minister Yisrael Katz said that he ordered an immediate cutoff of all water supplies to the Gaza Strip as fighting escalated with Palestinian militants.

The Israeli minister added in a post on a social networking site in which he announced the water cutoff: “What happened in the past will no longer continue in the future.”
