Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic told Reuters, on Friday, that he couldn’t hide his joy after his country’s team defeated Brazil, which was one of the strongest nominees to capture the golden cup, in the final 8-round in the FIFA World Cup 2022, and to advance to the semi-finals.

Plenkovic said that "the feeling is fantastic,” adding that he and the other leaders at the EU-Mediterranean Summit, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, followed the game during breaks in the summit that was held at Alicante, Spain.

The Croatian Prime Minister said: "We followed a bit during the break and then everybody joined in watching the penalties on my mobile. That was a lot of fun.”

After the summit, Plenkovic said in the press conference: "This was certainly the most exciting meeting of the year, if not ever, with a particularly happy end.”

Then, he commented on the result of the game once again, saying: "I'm more focused on what's happening at home and who should we play in the semi-finals.”

Plenkovic also sang the cheers of the Croatian team after the summit.
