EU Decides to Extend Sanctions against Russia Until 2024

The Council of the European Union (EU) has agreed to extend sanctions against Russia, following its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, until February 24, 2024.

Since the end of February last year, the European Union (EU) has approved 9 packages of sanctions against Russia.

Since February last year, the European Union has announced a series of sanctions against 1,386 Russian individuals and 171 institutions and organizations.

It is worth mentioning that, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that the Russian attack on Ukraine threatens the security of the entire Europe.

Borrell condemned - in an article in the British newspaper "The Guardian" - the Russian military operation that began in Ukraine last Thursday.

He explained that the Russian president is currently violating the basic principles of peaceful coexistence between human beings, stressing the need for solidarity, solidarity and expressing a frank stance towards Russian practices.
