Christian Berger, Head of EU Delegation in Cairo, launched the digital archive for the Aswan International Women's Film Festival films, enabling the public to access films that highlight key societal issues and can contribute to raising awareness.

Moreover, Berger pointed out that this platform will be used as a source of inspiration for the youth being trained, in addition to providing an opportunity to showcase women's issues and contribute to their awareness.

Furthermore, EU Ambassador pointed out that this platform will be used as a source of inspiration for the youth being trained, in addition to providing an opportunity to showcase women's issues and contribute to their awareness.

The EU is working with the festival management to support the training of young talents and the production of short films, some of which have participated in international and regional festivals.

Over the past eight years, more than 350 young women and men have been trained in a wide range of filmmaking fields and supported to produce short films that address women and social issues.

The festival management has documented and classified all films produced since the festival's inception, most of which were produced with the support of the European Union, to be available after the festival period, through an interactive online platform that allows young people and the general public to access the films and information about these films.

Through the platform, there will be an opportunity to watch a collection of 39 films produced by Aswan Cinema Workshops over the past four years.

After the conclusion of the eighth edition of the festival, 11 new films will be added, and the number of films on this new platform will reach 50, most of which are supported by the European Union.

The festival management indicated that with the potential expansion to meet and train an increasing number of young talents, the platform should evolve into a comprehensive platform dedicated to South Egyptian cinema.

This initiative will not only showcase the annual productions of Aswan Cinema Workshops, but will also highlight the creative productions of young people across Upper Egypt.
