A great decision taken by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to establish a complex of tombs for the immortals. This decision aims to preserve the immortal human heritage in these tombs, which are threatened by the danger of collapse due to erosion and groundwater factors. Last April, I wrote an article entitled “Who could Save the Mokattam Treasure?”, about the tombs of some of the Companions of the Prophet in the Mokattam area, in this article, I called for the renovation of these tombs to become a tourist attraction because of the wonderful human heritage they contain and their unique architectural style.

On top of these treasures is the tomb of the great companion Amr ibn al-As, the leader of the Islamic armies who conquered Egypt in 640, and the founder of the city of Fustat, who made it the capital of Egypt, in addition to the tomb of "Dhu al-Nun al-Masry", a professor of the sciences of the Qur'an and hadith, and the tomb of Rabia al-Adawiya, and others.

I have called on the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities to visit these places, shed light on them, and give his instructions to start the renovation works and put them on the tourist maps, but there is no respond.

Therefore, I was satisfied with the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's decision to preserve the Islamic heritage. The statement said: "His Excellency ordered the formation of a committee to transfer the tombs. The statement added that the President ordered the establishment of the "Cemetery of the Immortals" in a suitable location, to be a museum that includes the remains of the symbols of Egypt, it also will include a museum for the artistic and archaeological works found in the current tombs.

I hope that the tombs of Imam al-Shafi’i and the companions will be transferred along with their ancient walls and their wonderful Islamic paintings , it will become a place for immortals with all their heritage, artifacts and dazzling treasures.

I wish this place to become a tourist and educational shrine for our children in schools and to highlight our history for foreign tourists, I hope that every tomb would tell us the story of its iconic figure, his history and his achievements.

I also wish it would become an open museum of heritage that explains our Islamic history and sheds light on the iconic figuresof these tombs and their inspiring stories and the works and heroism they had.

Thank you, Mr. President, you always seeks to preserve Egypt's heritage, treasures and civilized values.
