With the summer heat, everyone heads to the beach resorts to enjoy the sea and the pleasant air.
However, it is important to stick to your skincare and haircare routine during your getaway. Here are some tips to make sure your skin and hair remain healthy.
*Sun exposure
Make sure your skin is exposed to sunlight in the early morning or two hours before sunset.
It is also advisable to avoid sunlight in the noon and afternoon due to its harmful effects.
*Moisturiser
Apply moisturizing oil or moisturizing cream to the skin to maintain a suppler and smoother skin.
*Sun protection
Many doctors recommend using sunblock and sunscreen.
However, there are differences between sunblock and sunscreen, despite they both protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
Sunscreen is water-resistant and is used to keep faces sweat-free.
It filters the sun's rays and makes the skin absorb only the beneficial rays, while the sunblock blocks UV rays by forming a physical shield and is not water-resistant nor keeps faces sweat-free.
*Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
There is great value in drinking fresh fruit juices such as watermelon, orange, and cantaloupe as well as eating fruits such as plums, peaches, mango, and leafy vegetables like watercress and parsley.
It is also recommended to eat and drink carrots, which provide the skin with a distinctive color when exposed to sunlight.
* Scalp Love
The summer is a great time for letting the scalp breathe. Let your hair fly with the breeze and the sun to reach your scalp for cleanse and revitalize the pores.
Seawater also provides the scalp with beneficial elements, however, it is essential to wash your hair immediately after leaving the sea to get rid of the salty water and wash the hair well while using a nourishing conditioner or hair mask but do not apply it to the scalp to avoid excess oil buildup.
