On Monday, American President Jo Biden met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss bilateral relations, the resumption of negotiations towards the latest issues between the two countries, and also the Syria file.

"I told him that given the necessary political will, the elements discussed during our meeting offered the possibility of a significant step forward on the confidence-building measures," Erdogan said early Monday.

Erdogan told the media that he held a "fruitful and sincere" meeting with his American counterpart Biden.

Erdogan's brief comment came after he and Biden met privately on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels.

"We believe there is no problem that cannot be resolved in Turkey-US relations," the Turkish President explained.

It's worth mentioning that Biden and Erdogan have known each other for a long time, but their recent meeting was their first as heads of state.
