Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad announced on Thursday that legal measures will be taken against TV host Reham Saeed and the TV channel that broadcast an illegal hunting trip of wild animals.
Fouad's comments came after news of Saeed and a group of hunters posted a video during a hunt for wolves and foxes which went viral on the social media.
In a statement issued by the Ministry, Fouad said that local and international agreements include standards for preserving natural resources, and biological persity, pointing out that Article 28 of the Environmental Law prohibits dealing with wildlife animals without obtaining a permit from the Environmental Affairs Agency.
She also urges all Egyptians to preserve biological persity as a right for future generations and a basis for life.
It is noteworthy that Egypt chaired the 14th Conference of the Parties (COP 14) on Biological Diversity.
