On Saturday, the activities of the EnviroMore Festival dedicated to environmental activities and sustainability were concluded.
The festival took place on Friday, and Saturday at the Goethe-Institute in Cairo. It included two major projects and initiatives such as Floating Forward, and Bee'ty "My Environment."
It also included several workshops like storytelling sessions for children, discussion about youth's visions about sustainability, and a film screening about the dangers of plastic waste in oceans.
The festival also targeted to discuss the horizons of suitability with its broader term and in different domains, not only the environmental aspect. The workshops included one about restricting food waste, and material recycling.
During the festival, five recycled boats made of plastic, and wood were delivered to the sailors. These five boats participated in the Floating Forward project and campaigns that collected waste from the Nile and its banks in several cities like Aswan, Sohag, and Bani Suef.
The Regional Director of Goethe-Institute MENA Region Lilli Kobler expressed her happiness towards the festival and the environmental models that were developed by young people.
She also greeted them for their ideas, and projects, adding that she hopes to see more environmental projects and initiatives that enhance the concepts of sustainability.
